The seven sisters are often a topic of Australian Indigenous art. This is “Seven Sisters Dreaming” by Gabriella Possum Nungurrayi (personal collection).

An excellent 12 km hike across Devonian syeno-granite - granodiorite intrusives, with a stop at Winglass Bay, Tasmania. 1 wallaby, 1 bird-eating snake (up a tree), lots of quartz-feldspar sand, and stiff 75 year-old knees ⚒️🧪

The Tasselled Wobbegong is a master of disguise that can eat a fish almost as big as itself in one gulp. It's classified as a shark, but when it lays on the sea floor it looks like a harmless rug if you manage to see it. But with powerful jaws and sharp teeth they are no fish to mess with.

The toxic crab (Lophozozymus incisus), a rare and very beautiful species found in warm waters the world over, including off the coast of Australia.

Toxic crabs can be incredibly dangerous, containing toxins that are similar to those of the pufferfish, called tetrodotoxin and saxitoxin.
