@blankcheck.bsky.social Happy New Year! I usually only use the patreon feed, as I have the no ads tier. I see Critical Darlings is not on that feed, will that change or should I also suscribe to the normal feed to listen to the new show? 😇

Nancy Meyers at a Father of the Bride Q&A just said she’s shooting a new movie in May! For theatres not streaming and starring Kieran Culkin!

Sometimes I get asked if there is an equivalent to Roger Ebert today. I tell them yes, there is, but he's in television criticism, and his name is Alan Sepinwall.
Some news: yesterday was my last at Rolling Stone. For now, I'm going solo, doing all my TV reviewing, recapping, etc., at my newsletter. I hope you'll consider subscribing. Many more details here:

@mariebardi.bsky.social Hey Marie! Loved today's newsletter, as usual. Looking at the schedule, what's the plan for House of Dynamite? 🤔

Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.

OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.

Whenever talking about @screendrafts.bsky.social I quote Clay once telling a guest who asked if they could swear: "you can, and you will".

After the atrocities committed by the legends I asked the @blankcheck.bsky.social subreddit for their M:I rankings and they're way more respectable

One thing I really loved about Andor, along with all the other things I loved about Andor, is that its episodes had A, B, and sometimes C storylines. A lot of prestige shows *cough cough* seem allergic to that these days. It was not afraid to be television!

constantly lowkey annoyed that we dont have a norm of micro payments for articles. i dont want to make a new account, i dont want another subscription, i want to give you the cost of a cup of bad drip coffee and then i want to read the article. that's it.

@moryan.bsky.social the best thing about discovering bluesky has been rediscovering you and your account. I admire and appreciate you!

Might be time for my ~annual reread of your Leftovers essay.

@gemofamara.com As a fellow '92 genderqueer person who went to film school, loves Better Call Saul, Blank Check, and football this isn't the first time you've made me feel seen and validated but your article on Gay Times about using football to navigate male spaces hit me like a ton of bricks.

@sepinwall.bsky.social I like that your book writing choices seem determined to get my wife and I's money specifically, please keep it going (aka, Leftovers book after the Serling one)

@sepinwall.bsky.social Fleabag's "it'll pass", Kim's "I love you too. So what?", and Kevin's “Then you should go be with them.” at Nora...is there a fourth entry into this particular Mount Rushmore? I realized my three favourite shows have devastating break ups (even if Fleabag's is more amicable)

@sepinwall.bsky.social I'm rewatching The Leftovers and reading your recaps. What an extraordinary show that inspired such great writing from you and your peers.

@sepinwall.bsky.social Alan, I am in desperate need of an episodic drama. I'm almost done with a West Wing rewatch. I've seen Lost, The Good Wife/Fight, Justified, House, BSG, didn't like Friday Night Lights, Star Trek: TNG...

Any suggestions? Thank you!
