So now that I have finally watched The Long Kiss Goodnight, I don't see why this movie keeps getting compared to Die Hard when it comes to Christmas action movies. It has a more satirical tone while Die Hard is played straight (but still has plenty of humor).
They're both great, anyway.

So now that I have finally watched The Long Kiss Goodnight, I don't see why this movie keeps getting compared to Die Hard when it comes to Christmas action movies. It has a more satirical tone while Die Hard is played straight (but still has plenty of humor).

Today I am irrationally annoyed by Cammy's costume in the new Street Fighter movie. Not the cut of the leotard, because yeah not practical irl. But the gloves a) are meant to be protective and b) look like they're supposed to crack open a skull. Wtf are those socks on her arms!?

I went to VHSFest at the Mahoning Drive-In this weekend. Despite some vehicle issues (that resulted in my friend and I having to uber in on Friday), I had a great time! Also really nice to meet Joe from @foundfootagefest.com and tell him how much I appreciate FFF!

I know I haven't been around much, for a variety of reasons. My cat Michiko passed away and that combined with current events has burned me out significantly.

When you look at the list of institutions they want to defund: libraries, museums, the Smithsonian, public schools, PBS, NPR, archives, you can clearly see that the real threat to an authoritarian regime is an informed and educated public

This kind of junk is why I'm glad Otaku Joe's is now at Zenkaikon. This was the only booth there that sold discs for a long time. They're all beaten up and still sold for near MSRP.

I've only been going to one anime convention the past few years, Zenkaikon, for several reasons. However, the one thing I miss about Otakon is that it's a reliable place to get DVDs and blu rays. Zenkaikon doesn't really have that, sadly.
