So, from my understanding ESHE keynotes were originally supposed to be public, and that means they could accommodate for the local community (👍🏾), and I believe this is what happening.

I just wish there was something planned for those of us who don’t understand French.

September 24th marks South Africa’s national Heritage Day. We celebrate the country’s diversity of cultures and traditions. A part of that heritage is the recognition of our ancient past through the lens of a very unique part of the world, the Cradle of Humankind.

The posting is unfortunately not super clear on this, but please apply if you want to do BioML research, especially around machine learning for molecular biology and bioengineering!

I get sad if there are no applicants with this profile in the pool!

I'm compiling a list of resources for grad students in the sciences!

What are some free/cheap online tools for learning a new skill or concept?

The ones I've advised my students to use are ConservationTraining .org, the UNFAO Academy, and DataCamp. What else is out there?

Any tips welcome! 🧪

Our @drpeechiwara.bsky.social is extracting a quartzite block to be geochemically tested. Part of her #postdoc field work, the aim is to pinpoint where raw materials used to make ESA & MSA stone tools in Kalahari of #SouthAfrica were obtained.
