my thoughts on the Sotomayor situation: her conduct was unethical. she should resign and be replaced by a 35 year old with material ties to left-wing militants

the actual issue here — and it is abundantly clear if you just listen to people who complain about affirmative action — is that there are *any* black people at selective and elite institutions! there could be 10 black people at harvard and someone will complain that they “stole seats”

one would think that with the end of affirmative action in college admissions we’ll finally also see the end of people blaming black students for why they didn’t get into their preferred university, but i suspect that will continue all the same.

my general experience is that complaining about affirmative action on elite campuses is less about expressing an actual grievance than it is a mode of cultural bonding for white students

Going to be the opposite of Twitter and view every thought on Bluesky in the best possible light. If someone says “I like pancakes”, I will think “this person potentially also likes waffles, which are also delicious”
