Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated or Pixar.

Makes me a Xoomer. So I designed these – and for each year, I tried to use a font that was created or released in the same calendar year.

“Civility” with respect to tone cannot be divorced from incivility of content.

If you opine to me, in pleasant, measured tones, that stoning homosexuals like myself is an example “affirming God’s perfect law when it comes to sexual matters,” I’m unlikely to treat that as civil discourse.

Agreed, but I have often gotten into a pedantic argument with a friend about this. I believe “respect” is an earned acknowledgement of expertise, authority, or goodwill, but that “courtesy” is owed to all, unless they have proven they don’t deserve it by their deplorable actions or behaviour.

I have clients who call me the TARDIS of software developers: I don’t always take you where you WANT to go, but I always take you where you NEED to go.

Here’s a slightly longer version of those who need a full 144 seconds of joy.

That said, I did some years back, use a tool to animate animal photos, to humorous effect. This was pre “AI” craze, at least 8 or 10 years ago. The voice is one of mine - I did so many years developing, enhancing and implementing telephony gateways that my voice scripting accent range expanded.

As an example: outside temperature (25°C), temperature in my non-air conditioned bedroom (35.5°C), and in my living room (25°C now, set to 19°C), where I move my office in the summer. The sun still shines directly in until about 2pm, after that the a/c will cool the living room down to 21-22°C.

I had a “Kit” too - it was short for Christmas. His sister was Holly - and a hat tip to Dick Francis whose book characters inspired their names.

This was Kit.

Computers replacing humans? Machine intelligences hallucinating? Mass layoffs by a computer program? No, this isn’t DOGE, Grok, or ChatGPT, this is Desk Set, a 1957 Tracey and Hepburn film.

I found the information about these direct to consumer (DTC) ads and rules behind them. The US allows “product claim,” “reminder,” and “help-seeking” ads (🇨🇦 allows only the last 2).

Reminder ads promote the product name not the benefits; help-seeking only highlight the condition being treated.
