More curious now than ever. Life, Love, the whole damned thing.

Ribbon: for Peace and Compassion.

*We are where we are because of where we have been. Each choice, each decision rolls us forward. But each moment has its own Choice.*
You might think we have enough on our plates at the moment. Take a deep breath.

We must not wilfully ignore this.

But for arrogant blindness, the solution is real and attainable, and it is in our gift to make it happen. We just have to act NOW.

Hope lives. The Zoom launch was full of great prospects and positive outcomes for soil, food, farming, technology, science, society, life …

Can’t wait for the Zoom call recording so I can share to those who missed the event.
1. Some good news at last. This week’s column is about the amazing thing a couple of us stumbled into three years ago, which we’ve now developed into a global research programme. It doesn’t change everything, of course, but it could help change quite a lot. + 🧵 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Why the #plastics #recycling rate has never reached double digits? Because its chemical and polymer complexity makes large-scale recycling technically and economically infeasible.

It is essential to argue for/against policy proposals on their merits.

It is v unlikely indeed settlement rules have any link to racist abuse of <1%. Any link to net migration levels is very indirect. Political discourse from all perspectives can contribute to climate, normalisation/inhibition

The misconceived notion that the way to deal with the backlog of asylum claims is to duplicate the system so as to have exit assessments too.

In essence: addressing the problem of a queue by forming another queue, just as long.

Daft, as well as cruelly unsettling.

A reminder about the language of deception. #highstakespeverseness
This is why I advise in The Language of Climate Politics that saying we’re better off now than we were before the Paris Agreement only lowers urgency & helps fossil fuel interests: the IMPACTS of lower levels of heating are proving to be so much worse than we thought even just ten years ago.

Great to meet with Johan Rockström & others yesterday at #COP30. Water flows through all sectors—from food security to energy to health. As our report argues, achieving climate goals requires recognising water as a global common good.

Truth is what the eyes see, the heart feels and the body knows.

Literally and figuratively.
The delegation of the #USA was not present for its #UPR50 session nor did the country submit a national report. A resolution was passed during the meeting in the hope that the #USA will return to the #UniversalPeriodicReview in the 53rd session in 2026, or a session prior to that
