American #flour bags were once used by the resourceful #Taiwanese to make underwear and attire for kids. At one point, flour bags were even used to clothe inmates. The proliferation of such cotton bags across #Taiwan during the 1950-60s was due to US #aid.

Any four Republican Senators could stop this at any time simply by threatening to block all action (or even caucus with the Democrats) if Trump doesn't make certain concessions. They won't, but that should be a much bigger story than whether the Democrats are doing everything that *they* can.

This is getting overlooked, but the whole premise of Trump's threat of tariffs is based on a lie. He's claiming Mexico must be bullied into stopping migrants. But Mexico is *already* doing this. That's a big reason crossings have dropped. 1/
