Amar mayor! Tomar mayor!

From Parkchester to Jackson Heights, Bangladeshi New Yorkers have been showing up for this campaign from day one — and I’m proud to have their support.

Tonight, I'll go home and sleep in my bed. I have a lawyer, I'll get due process.

But Edgardo, whose arm was ripped from mine by ICE agents, has none of those things.

That's why I'll keep coming back to court, week after week, to make sure that people's rights are protected.

Hi, this is Meg Barnette, Brad's wife.

While escorting a defendant out of immigration court at 26 Federal Plaza, Brad was taken by masked agents and detained by ICE.

This is still developing, and our team is monitoring the situation closely.

As for so many across this country, Bernie Sanders has been the single most influential political figure in my life.

As Mayor, I will strive to live up to his example by fighting for the working class every day and hopefully make Brooklyn’s own proud.

With Tish James as our Attorney General, New Yorkers have a champion for the rule of law, a fighter who stands up for working people over greedy corporations, and a leader who has taken on Donald Trump and Andrew Cuomo—and won. I am so proud to have her support.

Government services undoubtedly have their flaws, but DOGE's disinformation-driven approach to data and "reform" has made Social Security demonstrably worse--creating chaos, driving away experienced expert staff, and jeopardizing benefits that millions depend upon. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/16/u...

I'm sorry but the largest protest of my lifetime is not the 7th or 8th biggest news story in the country behind "what does Gen Z want from Instagram?" This shit is humiliating. Rearrange your layout to meet this moment. Omitting the thing happening in every American city is malpractice.

No Kings, No ICE, No Bans on Stolen Land and Free Palestine! A little rain couldn’t stop tens of thousands in New York this afternoon. A few of my favorite signs.

Mis/Disinformation Studies folks!

This is an excellent meditation on the political limitations of debunking and on how we might respond otherwise. Even if you're not a queer/trans studies person, this piece is well worth the read!

A judge in Vermont has ordered Tufts University student Rümeysa Öztürk immediately released from ICE detention. Öztürk has been held in a notorious prison in Louisiana. She still faces the threat of deportation, apparently in retaliation for co-authoring a piece for her student newspaper about Gaza.

NYU has closed off every space for student protest, thereby criminalizing the very act of dissent on campus, bowing down to Trump. Today, student activists organized a “Melt ICE” rally protesting sadistic deportations by federal ghouls. In response, NYU reinforced cops & checkpoints. Disgusting!
