Surely it would have been reasonably trivial for the pages where you book to ask questions about eligibility.

… or does it and people complete it incorrectly?

A 2025 review in the Lancet (www.thelancet.com/journals/lan... shows that our current spending on new medicines skews overall health spend away from more effective interventions. But it looks like we are about to spend more on meds, thus depriving our population of more effective healthcare.

The new trade agreements are going to be country-company as much as country-country. This NHS-global pharma deal may well turn out to be the most significant trade agreement the UK has signed since Brexit. www.politico.eu/article/brit...

Didn’t most animal welfare groups say at the time that breed specific legislation was not the right way to go about reducing the harms associated with dangerous dogs?

I’d say a clinician is anyone who works clinically with patients - so a term not restricted to any professional group.

A cogent analysis by a knowledgeable team.

A question that it prompted in my mind is what we now mean when we use the word clinician?

Dad’s books are full of empathy, common sense, and a healthy suspicion of the powerful. But at its heart his work is also about how systems keep people poor while pretending it’s their own fault. So I hope Kemi’s taking notes as well as reading the jokes.

They’re never in charge, tolerated because of their wealth.
paulb3964.bsky.social
Well he would say that wouldn’t he?

Once he’s explained how his wealth tax proposal will raise the sums claimed from the people he claims it will hit (billionaires) and which countries have successfully implemented it, he might be worth listening to.

My GP has an all day walk in clinic for flu vaccine.

But not this morning when I went.

So I went back just now, but rather than being walk in, they book you an appointment… in an hour’s time! (Only noticed when I got the email.)

Normally they’re very good but this is a fail from me!
paulb3964.bsky.social
Thanks for spotting that - I’m just reading his book on uncertainty at the moment

Train travel should be easier (and cheaper) than this!
felicityhannah.bsky.social
Rail travel - my odyssey:
1) Booked a train to London using split tickets to make it £170 return instead of £240.
2) Train delayed. Next train is the same company and gets in later than planned train but split ticket doesn’t count. Nice staff say it is up to the train manager if he will let me on.

This is a lie.

There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years.

But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.

Govt would say that they have accepted the advice from JVCI which they claim is independent, but did DHSC impose financial constraints on the committee? It’s hard to find out without spending ages digging.

But I guess we’ll soon find out.

I do think the media is giving too much attention to the possibility of Farage winning an election that's nearly four years away. I also think it's underplaying the extremely high possibility that, even if he does, he immediately drowns in the same mire that swallowed Starmer and Sunak before him

Inspired by a post I just saw in which someone admitted they hadn’t seen a single episode of Friends nor the film Love Actually… what cultural hole do you have that’s a bit weird for your generation?

I’ll go first: I haven’t seen Dirty Dancing.
