Marie-Anne Gaboury is considered by some to be the first female voyageur.
She taught herself to read and write in French and Latin, and studied mathematics in her spare time.
The grandmother of Louis Riel, she became an important figure in the Red River area.

This is a great move by the Federal government.
They know people have mixed feelings about a couple of these.
Seeking input to shape the agreements, and to gauge people's feelings, is smart.

A brave working-class everyday fella in Australia risks his life jumping an armed killer and disarming him while a bunch of wealthy fellas in the US see a couple of unidentified people clinging to an overturned boat and bomb them again from hundreds of miles away.

That's a helluva timeline.

Good guy with NO GUN tackles and disarms a bad guy with a gun and chooses not to shoot bad guy with the gun.

The NRA bulls*it about needing guns to stop people with guns is laid bare.

It just takes heroism and courage to do the right thing.

During the announcement the cons took credit for a lot of growth that was the result of the work of the Feds

Thanks to the Salvation Army team for finding it a home, and making someone’s Christmas brighter this holiday season.

Hockey night in Saskatoon.

Watching my niece at the Cosmo Civic Centre. Where my short hockey career started. We used to come here for public skating as a family.

Proud uncle moment. Such a great pace to this game. Wonderful skill and effort shown by these young women.

“The legislature sat for just 51 days in 2025.”

Please remember this the next time teachers’ contracts expire and Doug Ford, Paul Calandra, and the rest of the PCs try to tell the public that we are lazy and entitled.

Enjoy your 102-day winter break, Doug.

If another MP defects in the next six weeks?

Even so, "Poilievre is sure to do well," not because the membership has faith in him, but because "nobody is organizing against him."

I expect 2026 will be a year of Poilievre leading the opposition against a majority Liberal government.

And loving it!

Mark Carney's grand bargain with Alberta wasn't popular with climate activists, but it's a much different story with the broader public.

Why it's part of his push to return the Liberals to their former position on the political spectrum. #cdnpoli www.nationalobserver.com/2025/12/12/o...
Mark Carney's grand bargain is more popular than you think
So far, the deal with Alberta hasn't cost the Liberal Party of Canada much support in the polls. Has the prime minister actually read the public mood correctly?

Thanks for this. Canadians have hit the jackpot with Carney who will make more of them feel welcome in the big Liberal tent and strengthen Canada's economy, while also managing fossil fuels and their environmental impact responsibly, consistent with beliefs he has held throughout his career.
