I don't get why they didn't go with the volcano ending for Sliver. Now it will just continue to live in my mind as that failed follow-up to Basic Instinct I will probably never watch. 😤
I spoke to Rian Johnson about WAKE UP DEAD MAN. He tells the story about how Daniel Craig was almost not Benoit Blanc. How Craig will always play Benoit Blanc in future movies. And he makes a personal plea to an Oscar winning actor to be in Knives Out 4. www.indiewire.com/features/int...
Rian Johnson on Why Daniel Craig Almost Wasn’t Benoit Blanc, Why He Will Never Be Recast, and the Actor He Wants Next
INTERVIEW: The filmmaker tells IndieWire about "Wake Up Dead Man," his casting process, and why Craig is his Indiana Jones (not his James Bond).

Yeah, cause it made the movie better
I invented this complex while still fuming with anger after seeing the Cameron film and frustrated because I wasn't allowed to punch people in the cinema.
I'm sure you can think of a few examples in other films:

it is almost as if accommodating and conceding to far right ideas legitimizes them and signals to voters that the far right is a legitimate choice for governance
The Danish Social Democrats are currently on course for their worst election result since at least the Second World War, despite their brand of far-right accommodationism being touted as a blueprint for other centre-left parties.

slut shaming coco chanel for a relationship she had in the early 1940s
Everyone in my feed is shitting on Nuzzi. Meanwhile, the other person in the saga is now destroying the medical community and endangering public health.

But let’s slut shame Nuzzi.
Scoop: Olivia Nuzzi has written a book during her year in exile, in which she is set to in part address her relationship with RFK Jr. Details in @status.news: www.status.news/p/olivia-nuz...

It's so nice that Leo continues a good trend of popes that are actually smart people.
Some inspiring words on cinema in the streaming era from the Pope.

Yes, THAT Pope.

I saw Sirat back in September and it was excellent. If you live in the US, now it's your turn to watch it as well!

You know, there is already a way to talk to Christ. It's called praying. Works just as well as chatbots if not better AND it actually gives you some time to contemplate your thoughts, away from a screen! Hallucinogens are a good option, too.

Whenever I see these types of ads or stories about AI attempts to digitally ressurect dead relatives, I keep returning to this small sci-fi film from a couple years back called Marjorie Prime, which was exactly about that. When I saw it in like 2019 or 2020, two things stood out to me.
Nightmarish idea for a startup tbh

Ah, Predator: Badlands was cute. He might've gone half across the universe to find a perfect prey, but what he found was companionship instead. A love story for the ages. ❤️❤️❤️

I know that the final twist of Bugonia is the part of the Korean original but I don't know, I feel like it undercuts any messaging that this film might have aimed at. Unless the message was Job's nihilism, but that feels like a cop-out. Great score, though! Loud and oppresive, reminescent of...

I love how Marty Supreme is advertised as this prestige picture when in reality it is Uncut Gems in 50's drag.

Welp, I guess the talks between the envoy of our new alt-right president and AfD went even worse than originally reported. Remember folls, there are two things the Polish right hates more than the "wokes": Russians or/and Germans.

Sometimes the beauty of cinema is that it lets you inhabit lives of other people, get to know them and see what they think of. Love was exactly that - a small drama about the love lives of a Norwegian doctor and a nurse. Smart, well acted, with some good food for thought. Really liked it.

A seminal piece of Star Wars media. And a great source of inspiration for silly social media handles. 😋
Attack of the Clones was released on DVD 23 years ago today so that makes today the very important holiday of Yoda Da Man Day. Please celebrate accordingly.

I don't know what it says about me, but out of the four Warren Beatty vehicles I saw (Ishtar, Bonnie and Clyde, Shampoo, McCabe & Mrs. Miller) Ishtar was the one I've liked the most (well, the only one I've actually liked). I think I just don't get his appeal.

Yes and yet several European countries are embracing a far-right worldview that would burn these policies to the ground, so let’s be not be smug or complacent here - particularly as Mamdani‘s pro-immigration stance is radical by European standards.

This is SO cool. If you've ever wanted to explore the road system of the Roman Empire, here is a map that lets you do exactly that. Not to mention that it also has afeature that lets you find the shortest land route between two major landmarks and its duration.
