After Solnits article, "Mansplaining" was useful vocabulary. When a guy explains something You already know to You, he's probably a sexist. Later expanded by rank and file feminists to mean "I don't like loosing an argument to this guy, so I call him a sexist."

Was immer in Gießen passieren wird, die AfD hat vor allem ein Interesse: Möglichst viele Bilder von gewalttätigen Demonstrierenden. Damit nicht über den Rechtsextremismus der Parteijugend sondern über die Gewalt der Antifa berichtet wird. Auch in diesem Sinne hoffe ich auf eine friedliche Demo.

Something I’ve noticed is there seems to be a sort of pervasive assumption that the status quo has gravity. That there’s a natural, comfortable way things should be and that deviations from the normal state of the world will correct themselves in time.
