Why do the dogs in Wuthering Heights showcase such 90s cartoon villain names

I know I'm getting older when I start to think Yellow Submarine is one of the greatest songs ever written. Gone is the youthful brash fellow who wrote the Beatles off as too conventional to impress me.

If there’s one thing leftists don’t understand, it’s living like a graduate student
A leftist's head would explode if they had to watch sports with such an incredibly shitty setup

I love Cameron Winter and Geese so much man, feels unreal to watch a generational artist develop in real time. I don't know what's next, but I'm excited to see it.

Manchán Magan's death is such an immense loss, a tireless crusader for the Irish language and one of Ireland's most studious minds. He carried himself with a genuine fascination with the world around him, a natural curiosity we should all try to emulate. I'm sure that the O'Rahilly would he proud.

It turns out that one of the new housemates has turned his room into a total gamer den: dusty as hell, clothes flung every which way, and overrun with garbage. It seems I'm in the clear.
Landlord has put up a list of house rules after four years of me living here, so either the new housemates have wronged him in some deep and unforgivable way, or they've finally gotten tired of my buffoonery.

Absolutely ignorant and insulting thing for an Irish writer to say. The Ireland of today has its problems, but we are so much more free and relaxed without the terror of the Catholic Church's rule.

Said this on the other app but we rly need to normalize that growing up = becoming a person with the money to afford childhood interests. The idea that you have to suddenly stop caring about cute or joyful things when you turn 18 is the reason so many ppl are so fucking miserable for 60 years after

Having to pick and choose who gets featured in the one-page-long Acknowledgements section of my dissertation feels cruel.

Reading John O'Malley's book on Vatican II and I have to admire the audacity of John XXIII, who, being elected at age 76, was seen as a caretaker Pope who wouldn't accomplish much of anything, only to call for a Catholic council so large that the size of its publications far outweighed even Trent.
