Don't give your child a name that is a slight variation of a much more common name. You and they will be having to spell it out and correct mistakes for the rest of your lives.

I loved this latest book from @lissakevans.bsky.social. It's charming and very funny, I only hope we meet these characters again as I'm sure there are more stories there. But it was poignant too as this is the first of Lissa's books I can no longer pass on to my now late mum. She would've loved it.

My view right now as we approach Molde in the Norwegian fjords. Having recently read @bendorgrosvenor.bsky.social's The Invention of British Art, I think this sky can be described as sublime.

Nye is such a good play. It should be compulsory viewing for anyone who wants to privatise the NHS.
Saw the play Nye last night, starring Michael Sheen, about the founding of NHS. Both Sheen and play magnificent. The takeaway message.

I've just seen this at The Light in Wisbech. It's a really good film, funny and surprisingly warm-hearted. And always good to see some vast Fenland skies on film.
So many lovely childhood memories at the Ladybird books exhibition at Peterborough Museum. And I loved seeing Mrs Bunny's Refugee as a reminder that taking care of those in need is not a modern, woke phenomenon.

@rachelburden.bsky.social Edwin Tate made it to the end of the 106-mile Challenger South with just 18 minutes to spare. That's definitely a Spine story to celebrate. It's not just the winners that we should cheer!
Go, Edwin! He's currently due to finish the Challenger South 5 minutes ahead of the cut-off time. An amazing achievement to finish the race in these conditions. I so want him to get a Finisher Medal.

I really enjoyed the Van Gogh exhibition at The National Gallery. Especially as my late dad loved his work, so I felt like I was visiting for him as well as me.

I remember my mum taking me with her to vote in the referendum to remain in the EEC (as it was then) in 1975 (she voted Yes).

I loved this book (and not just because I'm from Nottingham and grew up visiting Newstead Abbey). Definitely recommended if you enjoy social history and dysfunctional families.
