This story is so twisted. A Toronto student group hosted an event to celebrate literal members of the IDF (aka war criminals) and now they are claiming to be victims because they were protested.

It isn’t + never will be antisemitic to decry Israeli genocide or to hold those responsible accountable.

In The Guardian, Jules Boykoff argues FIFA betrayed its human rights commitments by failing to suspend Israel over Gaza, citing UN genocide findings, illegal settlement clubs, racism, and the killing of Palestinian athletes like Suleiman Obeid.

Shame on Tennis Canada - so embarrassing that they don’t realize that sport has always been political- it is a human invention after all!
Far too often National Sports Organizations succumb to this sort of hypocrisy. Some people's human rights are valued more than others. Some are accorded humanity, some are not. It's blatant discrimination.
Tennis Canada responded to a petition to cancel a planned Davis Cup match against Israel by citing the need to keep sport separate from political conflicts.

Which is an odd position to take, seeing as Russia and Belarus are both banned from the Davis Cup over the Ukraine War.

This fucking sucks AND is absolutely in violation of the IOC's framework for inclusion — which state that without clear evidence from each specific sport, you cannot ban athletes based on gender or sex, or presume an advantage. abcnews.go.com/US/us-olympi...
US Olympic and Paralympic officials bar transgender women from competing in women's categories

As a human rights scholar, I've read countless reports where both Western media + prominent human rights organizations term this as an "enforced disappearance" when this happens in other countries. Wild (and completely unsurprising) how the same terminology is missing when it's happening in the US
