This is such an exciting project. It’s the most complete and well-executed example of quality bike and bus infrastructure in the city and it shows what PBOT is capable of when given relative design freedom and ample funding.

NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

The ICE officers’ stop of the car based on their scouring of license plates to access state vehicle registration data is just the kind of enforcement that Oregon’s two U.S. senators and other lawmakers this week announced that they were trying to curb.

It's fine, you can call me smug. That's just because I'm having more fun on my e-bike than you are in your car, and I spend way less money on mine!
E-bike dads is my tribe.

This will undoubtedly increase wildfire risk in the future. Hiding from the wildfire risk maps as #orleg seems to want to constantly do is only going to make the insurance availability and affordability crisis in Oregon worse.
Using satellite imagery, researchers have discovered that nearly 5% of Oregon and Washington’s western forest canopy — about the size of Rhode Island — was scorched and damaged in the multi-day 2021 heat dome.

A 🧵 with all my hopes, big and small, for the future ODOT director.
- Focus on safety over speed in all projects. Invest in returning orphan highways to local agencies and support upgrades that make them unable and safe by all users.
- Give me back the button to stop traffic on a bike going SB on Delaware crossing Lombard that was removed (niche)

Mike Johnson didn’t stall her swearing-in by accident—he did it on purpose.

Because protecting predators was apparently more urgent than serving the people.

There are a lot of Portlanders who consider themselves progressive but turn reactionary when they see visible poverty.

The urge to just make poverty disappear from sight instead of working toward holistic solutions is why we don’t have nice things in this country.

Poverty is a social creation.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Thank you. The cavers should be primaried out of office and their names be forever remembered associated with their decision to cause harm to Americans in order to get "a deal".
My red line has always been lowering health costs for Americans. Donald Trump and Republicans don’t want an agreement that meets that bar. I’m a no.

Any Democrat voting for this should be primaried as quickly as possible because they're stupid, aren't capable of recognizing they're winning, are incapable of representing their constituents, and are cowards not up to this era's challenges.
Senate Democrats asked for a year of ACA subsidies and were told to fuck off.

So they came back and asked for a pinky promise to hold a vote on ACA subsidies that they will assuredly lose?

Seriously?
From what I have seen so far this does not seem like a good deal:
