For all the critiques of Mamdani as an inexperienced pol, his campaign has been a relentless machine of clever, viral messaging and door-to-door canvassing. I’ve never seen such discipline in the 30 plus years I’ve been voting in NYC.

I’m enjoying the games and the drama, but I honestly believe if I was a real fan of either of these teams I’d be dead from a coronary.

"Cancel culture" is bottom-up, generally. It's the powerless leveraging numbers against the powerful, which is why the elite–even the liberal elite–hated it.

A grim reminder: these people will never be satisfied. There’s no point at which they will say “we’ve won, let’s enjoy life.” They will always be looking for someone else to punish, to revile, to dehumanize. They’re empty without that.

I’m oddly enthralled by this Titans: The Rise of Hollywood on Netflix. However, I’m really worried these actors are all going to get lung cancer. And that ridiculous theme song sounds like something by a 13-year-old wrestling fan writing an entrance song for his favorite circa 2003 WWE wrestler.

The Trump admin’s creation of an isolated concentration camp may be the single biggest, most urgent threat right now.
I am unaware of any government ever creating a “zone of exception” like this that *didn’t* ultimately use it to imprison, torture, and kill political opponents and societal others.
