It’s the students who can’t come here, the doctors and professors for whom an HB1 is too expensive, the countries banned entirely so we don’t get the benefit of their best and brightest. Good for the world? Maybe. Certainly not good for the US.

I’d say that @stephencolbert.bsky.social is (with the lone exception of @maddow.msnbc.com) the most brilliant, humane person I’ve encountered in broadcasting. His mind works faster than anyone else’s at a level of sophistication that is unmatchable. Genuinely a generational talent.

If you live public media as much as I do, think about how to increase your support. I usually just support my local station, but should I also support NPR National? PBS? The alternate stations I listen to? What is most strategic? I welcome advice!
