My bus stop still doesn't have a shelter or a place to sit, but it now has a button-activated light so the bus drivers can see me in the dark!

I know it's a little thing, but small improvements to service add up to a better experience. 👍

I think we all intuitively know that long commutes mean less sleep and poorer health outcomes. Researchers in Japan measured it, and a commute longer than 52 minutes is as bad as insomnia.

Building our city for long commutes is literally hazardous to our health.

I hear people say that, but is there a network operating on the bsky protocol that isn't bsky.app? Can I transfer my account over there, or export it, or (if I felt ambitious) start up my own? I haven't seen anyone do that, but maybe I've missed it.

This was true for me today. I had appointments Downtown and in Metro Center, and not only did my ebike get me around despite the heat, I avoided most of the traffic!

The “E-Bike Effect:” Those who bought e-bikes increased their average daily bicycle use from 2.1km (1.3 miles) to 9.2km (5.7 miles), a 340% increase. The e-bike share of all their transportation increased dramatically too; from 17% to 49%.

E-bikes support fewer car trips.

I stand by the original Thrawn trilogy, it holds up. Such fun characters, Mara Jade, Talon Karde, Borsk Fey'lya, all complicated and interesting.

The Tales were varied, but that was part of the appeal. Splinter was its own thing, never canon IIRC.

I remember liking the Rogue Squadron series.

I visited Alyssa's ghost bike this morning, it's been a year since the off-duty Knoxville PD officer killed her. TDOT has made no change to Highway 100, although I heard they are studying the corridor. But 100 is still massively overbuilt and dangerous.

Seriously. Have we not driven buses for 50 years where we know how they work? Love my WeGo folks, but when they tell me that they need more buses to implement more service improvements, this is what comes to mind.
