My favourite episode is the one where Poirot gets a shoulder-mounted cannon.

I love spam when it's unintentionally funny. I got this gem today. I was so tempted to reply and say I was dead.

In all the discussions I have been reading on AI systems and the rush towards AGI, there is very little conversation around the societal impacts of AI systems. If AI really does replace humanity in the workplace, what does this mean to societies that have become consumer and economics driven?

This is a photo I took of the sun yesterday morning. Those sunspots are incredible.

It really, really irritates me when sites do this. We get it, you want to pad your page out with as many adverts as possible, but if I have to scroll down 30 screens, I'm going to go back and choose another site.

It strikes me that there's a market for marsupial martial art games. I give you Mortal Wombat (generated in the latest Photoshop).

Pressure on Justin Welby to resign as Archbishop of Canterbury. Lineker to step down from Match of the Day.

Does this mean that Gary Lineker is in the running to be the next Archbishop of Canterbury?

Fesshole is very addictive. We'll worth a follow.
Ooh 20k followesr on BlueSky - that's pretty healthy but obviously not quite the million we had/have on the sad old shit hole that Twitter is these days. Do tell your friends that Fesshole is HERE, so that they can follow us / block us, dependent on their feelings.

A question for the react devs. When creating a component containing multiple elements, do you prefer to wrap in a <div></div> (existing purely to make this a wrapped section) or use the empty tag <></> to avoid unnecessary elements?

For me, it's <></>.

I'm a Unity and Unreal Engine dev, so I know C# and C++. I've also worked with javascript a few times 😉

This feels very strange to me. Every day, I would open up codeproject.com and read articles there, answer questions, interact with people in the communal Lounge area. On Friday, codeproject was officially announced as inactive. It feels like a large part is missing; it introduced me to great people.
