Their "Shock and Awe" tactics have scatterer shot across the entire political spectrum, affecting every aspect of our lives in less than 6+ months. The clean up, however, I feel is going to last a generation. Hope I'm wrong

Exactly, that's usually the hardest part. Overcoming the constant overthinking and self-doubt. Did the same with two stories this year and I'm still waiting to hear back. But ultimately just glad I submitted them to where I wanted them to go.
