When a person who tried to steal an election with an orchestrated insurrection tells you he’s going to protect future elections, you’re fucked. The time to deal with him is now America. The rest of us are doing our part. Your turn.

🇺🇦 Zelensky: Putin still has guarantees of financial stability. A large part of those guarantees lies here in Europe.

Russian oil tankers still move freely along Europe’s shores—in the Baltic Sea, the North Sea, and the Mediterranean. Overall, Russia still uses more than a thousand tankers.

🇩🇰 Denmark’s PM Frederiksen:

Our problem in Ukraine is still that there are red lines when it comes to the weapons they can use to win this war.

And you cannot win a war with one hand tied on your back. We need to give them weapons so they can strike into Russia.

Zelenskyy on Russian shadow fleet:

Putin still has financial stability guarantees—much of it right here in Europe. Russian oil tankers freely sail the Baltic, North & Mediterranean Seas. Russia uses over 1,000 in it's shadow fleet.

Each of them is, in fact, a floating wallet for the Kremlin.

It is the source of so many of our evils: the astonishing concentration of wealth in the hands of a very few, and the immense political power that gives them. We cannot solve our problems until we tackle it.

At the root of all our problems stands one travesty: politicians’ surrender to the super-rich | George Monbiot
There are many excuses for failing to tax the ultra-wealthy. The truth is that governments don’t tackle the problem because they don’t want to, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

This is what the IRGC and Basij crackdown looks like on the ground in Iran, chasing protesters through alleys, firing at them from behind. Footage reportedly from January 4 shows the brutality firsthand. Thousands are already reported killed, even more wounded, with the real toll likely higher.

I am impeaching Secretary Kristi Noem, who is an incompetent leader and a disgrace to our democracy.

She wreaked havoc in the Chicagoland area and has brought her reign of terror to Minneapolis. One of her rogue ICE agents shot and killed an innocent woman today. It must come to an end.

Whatever you might think of Maduro, the seizure and kidnapping of a head of state takes us to a very dark place. Vast, arbitrary, extra-legal power, which could be exercised almost anywhere, regardless of the character of the target government.
