I was ready to be mad, as I think JMU was at least competitive (and very well could have beaten Ole Miss) but Pate made some decent points. As noted, college football is broken.
And hey, I got to watch my alma mater in a playoff game to compete for a championship. That was awesome.

I'm sure the people who said JMU shouldn't even be in this game won't give them credit, but to put 509 yards and 34 points on the Oregon defense is impressive. Along with most points and yards, it was the most rushing yards given up all year by Oregon. Outgunned, but never stopped grinding.

my big argument FOR these group of 5 teams in the playoffs just to get destroyed is that in today’s era of college football, we need these schools and conferences to have something more to aspire to be than just a feeder school to the big leagues.

Nick Saban’s moronic comment comparing JMU to a AAA baseball team making the MLB playoffs is absolutely missing the point. It’s more like the NFC South playing in the NFL Playoffs. JMU may not be a traditional powerhouse but they won when they needed to. They’re more deserving than a 3-loss bama.
