As I've said many times, I grew up working-class in Massachusetts.
1. I saw the 1970s.
2. New England Republicans were sensible and moderate
3. My parents were Dems who left after 1968
4. Reagan's optimism and foreign policy appealed to me more than the guilt and gloom and hypocrisy of the Dems
