Most of all, drop that "we're fucked" mindset. Time to leave that doomerism bullshit behind and focus on doing good.
I want 2026 to be the year where we collectively stop rewarding negativity. Stop bringing others down to bring yourself up. Stop bringing attention to genuinely awful people. Stop ignoring people bringing positive changes to the world. We need more kindness and empathy. I’m dead serious

Since I saw that reel where a German woman spoke in "voice acting" voice to her husband (which greatly annoyed him), it has become a herculean task not do that as well all the time.

What could it even possibly achieve? Excel is so numbers-heavy in its use, what could a Large LANGUAGE Model do here???

December is quite strange as a teacher. Got many exams in a week? You don‘t have to plan a lesson (great) BUT you can‘t really do much work while supervising (meh) AND you have to mark the exams (worst part). Nevermind all the students you have to track down that were sick on exam day.

I'm going to start using "digital asbestos" as a term of art.
I'm going to be honest here, I think AI is going to do so much damage to the usable internet that even after it's inevitably crashes out, it's going to take years to disentangle from every space it's polluted, like digital asbestos it's gonna be time consuming effort and likely expensive venture.
I think AI is going to eventually tank in the longterm, but...
the only real way to combat this is single-interest communities. Forums, user comms, etc, with a barrier to entry. They become trustable knowledgebases. It's really the only way forward is to return to what worked best the first time
