Here is a color version. This is a bit of a departure from my usual colorized calligraphy works - it has much more of a "mosaic" feel.

New calligraphic work: "On Resisting ICE and the DHS"

This one is complex enough that I am providing a key to how it's structured, similar to those keys you see that show how a Talmud page is divided up. See the alt for the explanation.

Hi all,

I'm going to need some help making sure I can make rent next month. My progress is still going slowly and my ability to work is still not great, so I'm concerned about making ends meet as winter approaches. We appreciate any and all help! Thank you all!

One of those stories where you wonder why someone would agree to be interviewed for it, like nearly all of the stories in the New York Times real estate section.
The secret to early retirement; dine out rarely, fly economy and be a Google employee making $390,000/year married to a fellow Google employee 17 years older than you who likely makes twice as much as you.
37-year-old quit her $390,000 Google job after saving up $1.5 million—see the 'no buy checklist' that helps her spend less
She left a $390,000-a-year job and now uses a simple set of rules to make her savings last in Switzerland.

6 years today the first COVID case was identified in a man in Wuhan marking the beginning of a global pandemic that changed the world. We are way less prepared today to face another pandemic than we were back then. This fact makes me sad.

This is also why people who put in a full military career typically come out with a significant VA disability rating.
We also don't talk enough about how the demands of a sport and the demands of long-term health and longevity are not always compatible.

Football and CTE are the most extreme examples of this, but we need to stop thinking that athletes are healthy, period (said neutrally)

Once again, this is where we're heading, because people respond to incentives, even & especially when they are terrible ones:
Again, we’re heading toward a world where we either teach state-approved propaganda, or a world where everyone gets A’s for doing no work &/or choosing their own comforting course content & requirements, lest we get investigated & fired because one student is unhappy.

A reminder that the DOJ wants to investigate the issue. The DOJ wasting time investigating our classrooms is an open invitation for any frivolous complaint from any student, anywhere with too much time on their hands.

I've been an Immigration Court observer at 26 Fed'l Plaza in NYC. While we're powerless against ICE, we do connect people w/ social workers & legal aid. We also give out children's books in court. A former student created this & we welcome children's books in Spanish. Here's Jeanneane's list:

One sign that your brain is super good is when your doctors keep giving you cognitive tests
Reporter: Governor Walz called for the release of your MRI results

Trump: They were perfect like my phone call where I got impeached.

Reporter: Can you tell us what they were looking at?

Trump: I have no idea. It was just an MRI. It wasn’t the brain because I took a cognitive test and aced it.

this wasn’t just TPUSA, by the way, this was libs of tiktok in her endless pursuit of destroying the lives of any queer or trans person she can reach.

this is what we’ve decided will be normalized and acceptable in our society, an endless pogrom driven by heartless grifters, one victim at a time.
what they’re showing is that no institution will support or back a trans woman under any circumstances.

as soon as someone makes a threat or kicks up a fuss, we are abandoned, betrayed, left to twist in the wind.

what place in society is secure for us, while this is the status quo?

what place?

I’d boycott Amazon a third time if I could
Amazon has had many opportunities to create dubbing projects filled with authentic storytelling, emotional connection, and believability. Instead they have chosen to create AI slop dubs of Banana Fish, Vinland Saga, and No Game No life. Many are calling these dubs "insulting" and "disrespectful".

If the Venezuelan sailors weren’t enemy combatants, then both strikes are criminal murder.

It’s that simple.

Again, we should have stopped this wildly unethical, corrupt, & almost certainly illegal nepotism all the way back in 2017, when Ivanka Trump was representing the US at international conferences alongside Christine Lagarde. An entirely different set of rules & norms just for this One Special Boy.
I’d rather question why is Kushner there and why is he laying out a vision? We did not vote him into any gov position nor the senate we voted for has approved his candidacy.

This isn’t a grey zone anymore, it’s 50 shades of grey.

This is infuriating on so many levels, but partly because it ignores Congressional intent to penalize immigrants who followed the rules. And partly because these are people who have done nothing wrong beyond trying to negotiate a broken system.
