Frost: For so long, the right wing has held up patriotism as a vibe, as an aesthetic. But patriotism is more than bald eagles and flags and beer. Patriotism is about loving the people who live in the damn country — every single one of them.

Never.

I try and avoid political posts because… well… *gestures*, but I am *still* seeing posts from Americans talking about stuff that the “next president” will have to clean up after “the next election” and it blows my mind that even despite… well… *gestures*, they still think there’ll be one.

At city-owned but privately operated Target Center, a fan with an ICE OUT shirt was not only asked to remove it, but allow it to be confiscated. The fan, a lawyer, refused to let it be taken. Arena operator later apologized. www.nytimes.com/athletic/696... (No gift link available, sorry)
Target Center security apologizes after telling Timberwolves fan to remove ‘ICE OUT’ T-shirt
Tim Phillips, a civil rights attorney, said that he wore the shirt in response to the increased presence of ICE agents in the Twin Cities.

This investigation is a sham — and yet another example of Trump's dangerous weaponization of our justice system.

He pardons his friends, convicted drug kingpins, & Jan 6th rioters who attacked police, but goes after Chair Powell for refusing to act as a rubber stamp.
With action against Powell and the Fed, Trump's list of targeted opponents grows longer
President Donald Trump’s administration has gone after multiple elected and appointed government officials who have either directly opposed the Republican president or not granted his wishes.

The president of the United States is extorting the Federal Reserve Board Chairman by threatening criminal prosecution if he doesn't lower interest rates.

DOJ is compromised, legacy media is cowed and Big Law is AWOL. As I wrote last year: "We are on our own."

ICE officers slipping on ice while trying to terrorize communities is the most accurate metaphor imaginable. No balance. No footing. No moral ground. Just cruelty, incompetence, and gravity doing its thing.

Hey MAGA—why are you against the Constitution?

Trying to end birthright citizenship by executive order? That’s unconstitutional. MAGA needs www.PAXIS.app

The 14th Amendment guarantees:
— Equal protection under the law (yes, even for undocumented people)
— Citizenship for anyone born in the U.S.

In case anyone didn’t believe in the literacy crisis among the kids, my eighth graders loudly complained about being given a six page story and it took many of them about an hour and a half to read it. And then lots of them said they didn’t get very basic things in the story. And I’m so tired.

A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like Renée Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.

I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

Trump has ruined so much it is unreal. I still cannot get my head around how he can continue to behave as he is. He openly admitted he had the election rigged.
