I'm guessing the fire station on Lady Hammond
For this #MysteryMonday, can you tell #HfxArchives where this photo from Dec. 6, 1992 was taken? It shows the unveiling of the monument to commemorate the firefighters who died during the Halifax Explosion 75 years previous.

"Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one"

Truly a #hero
Today I learned of Vince Coleman, who, faced with the knowledge that the harbour at Halifax was about to explode, ran to the telegraph station to stop incoming train traffic. 1800 people died, another 9000 were injured, but he saved hundreds.

Halifax Harbour was crowded with wartime ships on December 6, 1917. The CSS Acadia received minor damage in the 1917 Halifax Harbour Explosion while acting as a guard ship in Bedford Basin, making her the only vessel still afloat today to have survived.

New in PN: A war criminal without a war

"We’re watching the flimsy justifications fall apart in real time. They can try to shift the blame. They can try to say that people clinging to wreckage for dear life are somehow an active threat. But in the end, it’s just murder."

🌲Hiked into the heart of #Halifax's Blue Mountain-Birch Cove Lakes Wilderness Area & found myself at Charlies Lake, an amphitheatre of stone. The water was glass-smooth, turning the sky upside down. Nature’s stage, and I had the front row. 🐦🎶

The multi-model outlook into start of December does not suggest any remarkable storms. For Halifax, some remnant rain or snow showeers today in cool west wind. The next two events (late Fri-Sat and mid next week) are the 10-20mm rain variety.
Cools down as December starts... maybe a setup for snow?

Jesus and I agree that starving the poor so you can build yourself golden bathrooms and golden ballrooms is evil. Anyone who does that shall burn for eternity. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
