Seems like this would be super useful for defining different shades.

"oklch is a newer color model that is designed to be perceptually uniform. This means that colors are much more accurate in terms of how humans perceive them and it makes working with them much easier."
What are OKLCH colors?

I recently dove into the world of #OpenCart . I'm not fond of the ecosystem. Unlike the #wordpress community that I am used to, it is very unwelcoming. Despite it being an #opensource project, there are very few free extensions availible. Here is an extension that I created for practice. Enjoy.

If you're new to CSS, one of the best ways to make your life easier is to take advantage of all the CSS debugging features in your devtools.

To help, I teamed up with @amitsheen.bsky.social to create a free, 5-part beginner course on getting started with them: devtoolsforbeginners.kevinpowell.co

Can’t express how much of a fan I am of all things WP CLI / Bash, so Austin Ginder sharing years of experience with WordPress bash scripts into a new standalone CLI: CaptainCore Do is cool! It’s 100% open source, MIT licensed, and built to streamline WP site management from the terminal.

When I got involved with Front End North, one of the things I wanted to achieve was an affordable ticket price.

My inspiration was WordCamp London, which priced its tickets so that the whole community could come - not just developers, but testers, designers and writers too.

📢 Thanks to the generosity of local company @hiveit.co.uk and a few lovely individuals we are now able to offer a small number of diversity tickets for this year’s Front End North conference in Sheffield on 10th July.

See frontendnorth.com/blog/2025/06... for full details.

The Internet Archive has rolled out an extremely effective new tool for searching for old Geocities GIFs.

I'd apologize for what I'm about to do to this website as a result, but that would be a lie, because I won't feel sorry at all

People print websites, so I wrote an article over on @piccalil.li about how to make sure they don't feel the need to pull out all their hair while printing yours.

Decimate a rainforest, spend a fortune on some new ink cartridges, unjam the mechanism, print off the article, and give it a read.

Also, run ESLint with --report-unused-disable-directives to get notified of obsolete eslint-ignore comments.

Lil’ TypeScript tip: Instead of using `@ts-ignore` for stuff you don’t feel like fixing rn, use `@ts-expect-error`.

When you do fix the issue, `@ts-expect-error` will *itself* become an error (which you can fix by deleting the comment).

That way, you avoid stale ignores that aren’t needed anymore.
Screenshot of code showing a "@ts-expect-error" comment with a red underline. A label reads "I fixed the issue, and now the TS compiler will let me know to remove this flag"

🎉 It’s WordPress’ 22nd birthday! 🎉

On May 27, 2003, a small project to simplify publishing turned into a global movement for the open web. Today, WordPress powers over 43% of the internet—and none of it would be possible without you.

💙 Thank you for being part of this story.
