Both the UK and Scottish govts need to start listening to workers, and not just the lobbying of oil and gas bosses.
Workers want a fairer energy system. Governments need to start listening to them.

🚨 Hunger in the UK ISN’T about a lack of food.

People are facing hunger because they don’t have enough money to survive. The basic rate of Universal Credit is just £92 a week, disability benefits are being cut, energy bills are going up and rents are sky high.

It’s so wrong🧵

Working class communities have a long history of anti racist solidarity.

Billionaires poison everything.

Sucking up wealth, hollowing out communities, spreading poverty, division and hatred.

It’s time to tax the rich and repair our society.

⚡☀️ Behind the world’s largest renewable energy park in Gujarat lies a troubling story:

Migrant workers, drawn by promises of fair pay and decent conditions, report unpaid wages, exhausting hours & dangerous heat.

A green transition can’t come at the cost of worker rights 🌍✊
‘Unpaid wages, searing heat, long hours’: why workers are quitting the world’s largest renewable energy park
A vast migrant labour force is helping India meet its ambitious renewable energy goals, drawn by promises of good wages and perks. But many say they are forced to ‘escape’ without pay

We're really excited to see @cescotland.bsky.social's manifesto recommendations for the 2026 Scottish Parliament elections! 👏 Scotland deserves an energy system that serves and benefits local communities - not just corporations' profits. 🌱

Our first ask is a target: 🎯 1GW of community-owned energy by 2030.

That's 10x higher than now. Ambitious? Yes, but achievable.
@rescoop.eu say "In EU countries with such goals in place, clear policy signals and investor confidence has led to significant growth of the community energy movement.”

📣We’ve published our manifesto recommendations for the 2026 Scottish Parliament elections!

It’s clear that our energy system isn’t working for ordinary people. Communities must have more influence, ownership and feel more benefit from our energy system.

The Israeli colonial regime is not acting alone. It relies on imported oil & gas to fuel its war machine.

Demand that shipping companies transporting fuel to terminate all contracts aiding Israel’s genocide.

Outrageous. Britain is being sued in a corporate court, for stopping the Cumbria coal mine.

We’ve been saying for years that this system of corporate courts (ISDS) is an obstacle to climate action and democratic politics. Now it couldn’t be clearer

Protest outside Wes Streeting's office on Monday
Hey everyone! Queers for Palestine, Trans Kids Deserve Better, The Dyke Project, London Trans Pride, Fag Revolt and RS21 Are calling the entire queer and trans community to join us outside the vile Wes Streeting's constituency office. We are responding to the Palestinian Youth Movement's call for a 'Siege on Labour' on Monday:

When: Monday 4th August at 6 PM

Where: 12a Highview Parade, Ilford, IG4 5EP (15 minute walk from Gants Hill central line station)

? Why: Wes Streeting and the vicious 'Labour Party' are accomplices in the zionist-made famine in Gaza. Streeting is also responsible for the deaths of many trans kids past and future. We are taking unified action across the country on Monday with these demands:

1. A full two-way arms embargo on Israel

2. An end to British RAF surveillance flights over Gaza

3. For the British government to use all UN and sanctions levers to force Israel to allow aid into Gaza

4. For David Lammy to resign as foreign minister after lying to the public about arms sales to Israel

This government is dripping in the blood of our trans siblings and of the Palestinian people. We must act together to force Labour to meet these demands.

Imperialist governments and the industries that fund them rely on us feeling powerless, but we the people are many.

We must all do everything we can for a free Palestine. There can be no climate justice on occupied land!

We urge you to resist the apathy that can arise from witnessing prolonged tragedy, and instead keep your heart open to breaking.

It is vital that we continue to speak out, demonstrate, and take lawful action against injustice.
