I say this with utmost respect, but Taylor is an absolute tool for saying this privately or publicly.
I can say on good authority that it takes 7 to 10 years to develop game development skills to “good enough” to produce commercial game content. 7-10 years plus the cost of a university education.

I was on Twitter and had a little less than 3x the follower count but also I've become a lot less funny and interesting over the last few years.
I cannot stress enough that before bluesky I had no serious internet presence to speak of, I had about 80 twitter followers under my real name and I bet at least 60 of them were bots, I posted sporadically into the void
sometimes people are like "I followed you on twitter too!" and no you did not

people I know are sometimes like "my mom shared this post of yours on instagram" and I don't really know how to respond to that

My wife had a single line in Kung Fu Panda 17 years ago and still gets checks every few months. Most are way smaller than this, but devs get $0 even though the games we work on will likely be sold for 10+ years soooo yeah.
