The fact that so many Democratic electeds and pundits said that we should ignore it is a stain on the party. Voters want, and the country needs, an opposition party willing to act like an opposition party.

Shout-out to those who refused to ignore it (e.g,. Chris Van Hollen).

Bari Weiss is the logical endpoint of corporate media. This is what happens when people who hate journalism are in charge of it. The only way journalism works is when it’s independent from the power it’s supposed to hold to account, which means ownership can’t have anything to do with those in power

What Bari is saying is true of course, but it's horseshit in this case. You don't spike a story after it's been signed off on by legal and standards and screened that many times unless you're covering for someone you work for or with. You're already past the point in the process she's bringing up.
The New York Times updated their story with a statement from Bari Weiss:

Truly insane that the networks took this speech live after refusing to do the same for Biden in 2022

Looting the federal coffers was always part of the plan.
DHS gave a $1 billion contract to a politically-connected donor whose company had never received a federal contract before, in a process led by a political appointee to DHS who had held a senior position at a MAGA-linked org (the American First Policy Institute) which gave the guy an award in 2024.

1. For at least 10 years, Pepsi has conspired with Walmart to force up grocery prices. That’s the shocking evidence made public today in an unsealed FTC lawsuit. The suit was abandoned in May by the Trump FTC just before it was to be un-redacted. We went to court to get it unsealed & won.

Yet Disney paid its CEO $41B in 2024. It just reported a 36% increase in net profits for parks and streaming. And it plans to double stock buybacks next year.
