This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"

China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.

Stephen Bush @stephenkb.bsky.social is 100% correct here:

With votes split three - or even five - ways, First Past the Post elections become little more than a lottery.

We think that who runs the country should be up to the people, not up to luck. That's why we need PR.

Day 9 of Lois asking Steve Reed to join her at the football. ⚽

Something stinks about Thames Water's sewage plant upgrade costs. How can it be 15x more expensive than building a new one in other countries?

Perhaps Environment Secretary Steve Reed can tell her?

OK, this is wild.

In September 2023, geophysicists across the world started monitoring a very odd signal coming from the ground under them.

It was picked up in the Arctic. And Antarctica. It was detected everywhere, every 90 seconds, as regular as a metronome, for *nine days*.

What the HELL?
