Brilliant catch by the C4 News camera of Jenrick, rictus grin of loyalty firmly in place, applauding the leader (pro tem) to the stage and his eyes darting to the camera to see when he could get away with stopping his act…. #TomorrowBelongsToMe

Yes, but you forget the savings that the government will make. Somehow. Don't ask for details.

Hmm. But I think nVidia can probably survive the forthcoming crash as they have a hardware product that will remain in demand. I'd be more concerned about those who have sunk their money into the AI developers.

This is absolutely a bubble and we all know how this ends. It is just a matter of how long before the inevitable collapse.

Michael Heseltine tells @europeanmovement.co.uk event that the Farage's Reform and European populist far right parties are “equivalents to the fascists of the thirties” and adds: ”We have to deal with President Trump for the next 3 years. We don't need his mouthpiece anywhere near No.10.” ~AA 🔥

Robert Peston
@Peston
Heseltine has just addressed a packed meeting of the European Movement at Tory conference. He does not show the restraint of most party leaders in his critique of Farage and Reform: “right wing equivalents to the fascists of the thirties are back on the march: Le Pen in France, AfD in Germany, Fdl in Italy, Vox in Spain and conspicuously Reform in this country. Much of President Trump's language in America coincides with words here in Europe. The immigrant has replaced the Jew as the problem which needs a solution although recent events here have cast a dark shadow…We must make clear that we will never have any part in the populist extremism of Nigel Farage. We have to deal with President Trump for the next 3 years. we don't need his mouthpiece anywhere near Number 10.”

What is it that they want to say in private that they can't say in public?

I'm sure that there will be great focus on this attempt to claim that a Finance Director and then MD of a massive gas fire and cooker manufacturer was actually a CORGI registered fitter who would pop out at weekends for a few quid in cash to fit your fire.

I know plenty of politicians 'working classify' their backgrounds, but this from Jenrick is taking the piss.

His father's linked in is here: uk.linkedin.com/in/bill-jenr...

He was a managing accountant who ended up as the Managing Director of Cannon Industries

Good to hear Richard Parker coming out in defence of the people of Handsworth and the wider region and calling this out for what it is.

We see you Jenrick. We know what you are.

Badenoch should sack him, but she won't.

Wow. Robert Jenrick doubles down by branding a black journalist's questions "ridiculous" and saying that the problem is not his comments, but "journalists like you who pop up and try to knock me down", adding that "this is the reason why terrorist attacks happen". ~AA

Fair play to Andy Street for pushing back hard at Jenrick’s description of Handsworth. And also for standing up to the ludicrous idea of abandoning net zero.

Because of course in the world according to Robert Jenrick there are only two groups of people - white people and 'other' people who need to integrate.

Anywhere up to the end of the May premiership and Jenrick’s feet wouldn’t have touched the floor.

Heath sacked Powell when other members of the shadow cabinet threatened to quit.

Anyone in the current shadow cabinet prepared to make the same case or is this comment fine?

I’m old enough to remember when a comment like this would have been a resigning matter…
