two things have become clear to me after reading this

1. games journalism is alive and well, actually

2. i never want to read again
I spent so much time in Marvel’s Deadpool VR having nonstop “Deadpool jokes” pumped directly into my ear that I started to see the very predictable anatomy of a “Deadpool joke.” So here is a cursed review of Marvel’s Deadpool VR. www.polygon.com/marvels-dead...

FWIW i dont think the big NVIDIA sell off marks the bubble popping, more than a realisation that OpenAI aren't going to deliver and that it google might be a better bet. Of course, the Google AI guys are also repeating the same bullshit as Sam Altman
Really good that we’ve handed over p much entire state capacities to tech companies, whose strategy now seems to be to hold governments hostage so that they can keep their hype bubble inflated

I used to complain about "games journalism" a lot before gamergate poisoned that entire discourse, mostly because it was PR for publishers with little real news. Since it is imploding and folks are going independent, we can now judge them without the context of corporate overlords.

It's still dire.

wild how every time a leftist policy gets a trial run it exceeds expectations
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Tax the rich. Greg Ryan in @bloomberg.com:
Millionaire Tax That Inspired Mamdani Fuels $5.7 Billion Haul in Massachusetts

but it isn't a given, and some spend the rest of their lives in a lonely vigil atoning for the person they had been. Redemption can be powerful *because* people don't deserve it. Redemption is not a prize given, it is an arduous path walked by the unjust because it is the just thing to do.

I love redemption arcs, but I feel like a lot of people fundamentally don't understand what they are. Or have mislabeled what they are on account of fandom memes or tvtropes or something. A character can't be "worth" redemption. They can only "need" it. And so they strive to claw themselves out-

Elon Musk has been having an existential crisis wrapped in a panic attack uninterrupted for multiple years. It's crazy how money can insulate you from meaningful criticism and consequences, but also from anyone caring about or helping you. This is the loneliest man alive. Ha ha. The little bitch.
Elon Musk is over on Twitter posting his sad/pathetic Ai prompts.
