I don't description well. Not a bot, last I checked. Sometimes I crochet things. I like cats. I dislike billionaires and their apologists.
This Could Have Been a 2013 NSFW Tumblr Post
A Memoir by Olivia Nuzzi

So, if that ganked style hadn't been SO prevalent in the 2010s, I might've felt certain that Nuzzi had used a ghostwriter, and that her ghostwriter was this clown I'm recalling.

Because that style was everywhere, though, I believe it's her work; just, the only unique thing about that work is... 🤮.

They didn't want to write like Joan Didion; they wanted to *be* Joan Didion. When you half-assedly ape someone else's style, because the writing isn't really your goal, but a means to an end, said end being other white women seething in envy at your fabulous life--well. Of course it's narcissistic.

If you were on Tumblr anytime in the 2010s you ran across so much Nuzziesque prose. Joan Didion, whatever her literary merits, had such a disastrous effect on these bitches. And you'll never convince me the core of their Didion obsession wasn't that Joan was rich, white, anemically pretty, and thin.

Concerning the last line: God damn Dear Sugar all the way to hell for coining that cope. All it did was make "writerly" types feel more writerly. Though, in this woman's case, she did eventually write a book of sorts. Nonfiction and apparently uninteresting enough that I've forgotten its subject.

Oh, how marvelous! I'm happy for you. I love foxes and hate that I've only ever seen depictions of them, never the real animal. Someday, maybe.

Such people will insert links to Google in response to a question (which right there tells me they aren't the super-brains they pretend to be; as a search engine, Google is ass) when it would've been faster to type 1 line of additional context. Faster, but without that sweet hit of smugness & smarm.

The classic notion of commodity fetishism is a thing: when you put more and more of human behavior, interaction, and civilization into markets, you often reduce the space for morality, beauty, humanity

There are people on here and on other social media getting themselves added to watch lists because they can't keep their tempers. MEANWHILE there are so many 100% legal activities people with "access" could be doing. Or did everyone forget what happened when folks camped outside Tucker Carlson's?

That's what kills me about all the journalism conversations about "access:" What's the point of access if you won't use it for good? Do you know their favorite restaurant?--Launch a boycott of it. "That's unfair to the business." Is it? Is there a constitutional right to feed racists?
