If you're at the airport and the pilot says he's going to crash the plane, you refuse to board. You don't say "well, he says lots of crazy things and the first officer will keep him from doing anything too dangerous."
We can argue about the exact probabilities, but you wouldn't get on that plane.

Reminder: Expressing concern about threats to democracy doesn't mean I think there's a 100% chance of the worst possible outcomes. Trump would of course face many obstacles and/or not follow through on various threats. However, the probability of such outcomes is unacceptable. That is enough.
