Breaking news: ICE stops family at gunpoint—smash car window on top of newborn baby.

"I was screaming that there was a baby. But they didn’t care," cried mother.

“I covered my baby with my body—I was so scared he was going to be hurt because glass was landing on him."

Wow!! I'm shocked you remembered after like three years. I don't know if that thread still exists anywhere or not. But the underlying idea is that 1) people love stickers and recognition and 2) use something that also allows your personality to come through. It makes you relatable.

Elizabeth Warren on people who say Dems needs to tone down their rhetoric: "Oh, please. Why don't you start with the president of the United States? And every ugly meme he's posted and every ugly word."

It would be pretty awesome for every professor in Texas to talk about how there are more than two sexes in class today.

They can pick you off one by one. But they can’t fire all of you at once. Solidarity is the only way through this.

When Campus Reform and Turning point came after professors and created the professor watchlist, administrators didn't pay attention..Now they are being fired and attacked. Maybe institutions should have done more to protect academic freedom....

What do they think they're accomplishing? Our admins like to have us go to thinly-veiled PR events where they bombard us with data about how great things are (and then explain why we still can't have nice things).

i find this image so fascinating. it is both a literal example of authoritarianism but also a second-hand reproduction of the aesthetics of other authoritarian states. it's like a simulacra of authoritarianism whose purpose is to attempt to make the simulacra real.

This is a real photograph of Washington, DC this week, where the United States president has ordered military occupation in peacetime, and ordered the display of colossal portraits of himself.

the obligatory second tweet after "monitoring and praying" to show you are very concerned. then maybe a third tweet before going back to talking about how some restaurant changed its logo or an M&M no longer wears sexy boots
At 8:22am, JD Vance tweets: "We’re at the WH monitoring the situation in Minneapolis. Join all of us in praying for the victims!"

Then at 1:53pm, JD Vance tweets: "Amazing testimony from a very brave little boy. We hope his friend Victor is OK." There's is an attached Fox News clip of a little boy talking about how his friend saved his life at this morning's Minneapolis church shooting.

A reminder that this is what the path to a full ban on vaccines looks like.

No one is banning vaccines for everyone overnight. Just like with abortion, they will carve off one group at a time and hope the those still eligible respond with gratitude and self-interest instead of anger and solidarity.

It's official: Updated COVID vaccines have been approved by the FDA, but with restrictions.

Moderna: 6 months and up if high risk

Pfizer: 5 years and up if high risk

Novavax: 12 years and up if high risk

Anyone 65 years and up is eligible for updated COVID vaccines regardless of risk status.

It's just...every time I have a real conversation with a woman about experiences at work, on the street, at shows, at parks, on trains, online, etc. etc., I realize anew that it's way, way worse than I thought it was.

Don't just "believe" women. Put a thumb on the scale every time a woman talks.

If you're a guy, and there are any women who *actually* trust you, treat that like the highest achievement possible.

You think a Nobel Prize is a bigger deal than that? There are a LOT of Nobel Prize winners who can't say that any women trust them.

much easier to understand the sheer bloody intensity of the civil war when you have a good grasp on just how terrible slavery was.

It’s darkly funny to see what’s happening to techies who sneered “Learn how to code!” at people in other endangered industries.
