The only synagogue in Jackson, MS burned last night. It was arson. They've been here before--they were attacked by the KKK because the rabbi spoke in favor of civil rights.

Almost certainly the best thing I was ever told about owls was when I met an owl handler at an owl sanctuary and he told me that the wild owls who lived near the sanctuary worried about the tame show owls there and sometimes stopped by to leave them shrews and mice as presents.

I remember being gobsmacked when a white woman complained to me that she didn’t get the job for the ONE on-campus interview she was invited to. She cited the guy who did get it's race and seemed entirely unaware of how unreasonable her expectation was. Total lack of understanding of the market.
