So gut the agency so when it fails you can blame them, right? 😡😢 That’s all I can muster up right now
Breaking News: The Education Department announced that it was firing more than 1,300 workers, effectively gutting the agency. The layoffs mean that the department will now have a work force of about half the size it did when President Trump took office.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

all academics should oppose union-busting but especially grad workers unions
Whatever you think about PhD admissions, the following is true:

-This is a union-busting attempt in response to BU grad workers' historic contract win. Admin isn't being obtuse here. (I work for the local that reps BU grads.)

-This will decimate rankings, faculty recruitment, & general reputation.
BU suspends admissions to humanities, other Ph.D. programs
The university didn’t announce its decision in a news release and hasn’t fully explained it, but two deans blamed a new grad workers’ union contract for the cutbacks to a dozen programs including Engl...
