I think one German company had lower than expected earnings. However, they were early adopters, they need to upgrade ageing units & perhaps re-site some of the early units as we have better data now. The UK has just signed off on 80GW of new wind, our biggest problem is the grid needs upgrading.

I'm in the UK, my home runs 100% renewables 365/24/7. I have Solar/battery/heatpump & for 6 months of the year my house & EV runs on sunshine while selling a large amount back to the grid. For the worst 3 months in winter I buy wind/hydro mainly. The guy is talking out of his arse!!!!

So a) we have time zones. B) we have batteries and c) if you decarbonize by 80% the remaining bit is far less harmful and d) a heterogeneous grid is a more reliable grid in any extreme of weather, cyber attack or equipment failure.
