White House and DHS cancelling a $11b payment in disaster-relief funds meant to reimburse states that have already had to bear the brunt of recovery — from NC to TX.

It becomes an IOU for next year, reducing FEMA's already diminished $26.5b by nearly half. We'll have only $15.5b until Sept. 2026.

I’ve seen this argument made for years. It was kicking around before the 2024 election. Does it hold up to scrutiny? This rhetoric seems to have deep penetration and salience for the tens of millions of Trump voters. Are they all terminally online? Trumps poll numbers would be lower, no?

Oh, man. I saw Olson’s piece on recording federal law enforcement and thought, “The Dispatch isn’t on my radar. Let me check it out and see if I can recommend it to people.” Then I saw this and realized it’s not a serious journalism outlet. What is “transgender activism?” What is “wokeism?”
