The fact that no one realized this would be a giant hit is both hilarious and frustrating to me. If anyone had paid attention to fanfiction in the last 20 years, you could have seen this coming.

But fanfiction has girl cooties, so I guess not

i say this as someone who have spent the last 5 years in kpop fandom: i am a fan and i am being serviced within an inch of my life #HeatedRivalry

The thing about my cats is, sometimes the older one is mercilessly bullying his younger brother, and sometimes they are engaged in an entirely consensual game of Bite Wrestle Death Match! And as a non-cat myself, it’s hard to tell the difference.

I have a confession to make. (Contains #spoilers for Heated Rivalry if you haven't read the books. Do not read this thread if you don't want to be SPOILED)

I know I normally say that I have embarrassment squick, and I totally do.

BUT, I really, really like scenes where my pairing gets walked in on

#HeatedRivalry

Wow. Arguably the most important episode of the series, and they SMASHED it!! No notes!

Well, wouldn't have minded some sex scenes. ;)

But other than that, no notes!!!

What with the holidays and going on vacation, last night was the first time I've seen the hockey team irl since Heated Rivalry came out.

Good news. The only discussion was a rehashing of how offensive and incorrect it is to call hockey "the straightest sport."

Meanwhile, my Yuletide fic now has an outline. So that's, you know, better than it not having an outline? 😬

Latest hockey team chat regarding Heated Rivalry: A couple (straight) guys were deeply offended by a headline calling hockey "the straightest sport," & some happy chatter for the S2 announcement

Don't think any of them have actually watched an ep yet, but they remain happy/intrigued that it exists
Oh no. One of ,y hockey teammates just posted to the group chat about Heated Rivalry.

I somehow completely failed to anticipate that this would happen

Dear my hockey team,

I will be having the gay sex watch party with y’all on the first of never. Please go ahead and mark that on your calendars.

pretty sure the dynamics of my lefty family having a big political blowup at Thanksgiving aren’t that different than when it’s right vs. left, but there is something darkly hilarious about the fact that my aunt was able to bring the temperature down by saying: This country was built on 2 genocides

Happy to report that I still have immunity from my childhood mmr vaccinations.

I also learned that Hep B is only good for about 20 yrs. (I had mine more recently than that, but thought I’d spread the word.)
Anyway, I’ve seen a lot of people posting about getting a blood test to make sure you still have immunity from childhood vaccinations, and I’m definitely going to be doing that.

I saw One Battle After Another. It’s excellent. I do recommend seeing it in the theater, if you’re able.

Nothing bad happens to the dog. (He’s only in one brief scene.)

Um, lots of bad things happen to the people. But that’s probably apparent.

First heard of Huntington's disease (or chorea) better than 40 years ago, and was horrified by what a cruel disease it is. At the time, there was no clear path towards a treatment, but this is what scientific research is about; tenacity in the face of failure until...

I’m so excited my incompetent spies are coming back soon!
I am now through the first two seasons of Slow Horses. It's really good. I like River. He's not too bright, but he sure is pretty.

And I'm so curious how Louisa ended up at Slough House. I assume they'll get to it soon.

Yuletide noms are open, and all I can say is: SOMEONE had better nominate this
This is the commercial, but this one minute version is actually less slashy than the 30 sec version I saw on tv because that one only has them so it feels much more like a pure ship vid
