On another hand, I just had a stem cell transplant so I’m super duper tired and still am processing it haha but soon!! I’ll be back working on my comic!! I’ll pay my sister $5 if i dont!!

My surgery recovery is going OK, all things considered, but I had to buy a bunch of stuff (and still need to buy more) and it's quite expensive 😭 😭so I'm opening sketch commissions to try and recoup some costs! Please share this around 😭🙏

It feels silly to open comms when everyone’s also struggling too but man, cancer surely knows how to drain my wallet despite having an insurance 😭🙃 (TLDR: from chemo related dental problems and to gas fares for daily hospital visits)

My comic went through a massive rewrite and left one important empty pair of shoes to fill up so I gave the said role to a certain mage. Apparently that role turns out to be far bigger and crucial to the story than I’ve ever anticipated so yeah!! I’m excited for my readers to meet him very soon!!

All of the great webcomics you’ve seen online wouldn’t get to exist not for this phase of being unapologetically messy and rough for the sake of making comics! Like look at my first couple comics I’ve made since 2014 before I discovered my identity/genre/etc! It’s a very important passage of rite!!
2014 - A plain comic consists nothing but rough & anime inspired linework featuring mc seeing three of her friends. My fate’s sealed ever since I got cancer as I’ll never can have the dream job in comics. And man, it do suck a lot as a creative when you start realizing that your dream job wouldn’t cover all of your bases as necessary unlike what you’ve been envisioning it as a child/teen

People are often surprised that I keep my day job in tech despite doing so much work in comics and education. Quite frankly, things like what happened to Peter David are why. Comics are wonderful and I love working in them, but they do not provide for a stable future.

The main theme in 1 word is persistence. The continuous messaging I aim to convey is the constant failures & stuff not going her way throughout the comic, starting with a huge wrench being thrown at Avery’s dream of becoming the greatest knight. How can she bounce back from her own fatal mistake?
