“what ever happened to look left look right then left again?”

Police in Airdrie, Alberta (just north of Calgary) say this driver hit a 17-year-old girl in a marked crosswalk, got out of the vehicle, and appeared to get upset at the teenager before driving away.

They released this video and are now trying to identify the driver.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out for our cargo bike event yesterday!

Turns out people in Nashville do ride bikes, and they do it with babies and toddlers and big kids and dogs and groceries and lots and lots of joy. ❤️

In talking with many of my D16 neighbors, may of us want the same things for our community. I hope folks will set aside their issues with our council member and give this a listen with an open mind.

What happens when constituents and councilmembers clash over solutions to Nashville’s housing crisis? On today’s podcast, Jamie Agin from 16th United and CM Rollin Horton share their differing perspectives on upzoning, density, and neighborhood character. This convo isn’t going away any time soon:

I think a lot of the (honest) opposition is more about how the council member rolled the proposal. I hope they’ll set their beef with her aside and give this a listen.

My ebike is speed and power regulated from the factory because law makers see it as a potential danger to people in cities.

i don’t think it’s about shutting people out i think it’s about bringing people in and acknowledging the fear that many folks have about change in their community.

i also know one of the women in this photo to be a very kind and generous person who probably has the same goals for her community as i do. i think the solution for a lot of these folks is better education and outreach about how upzoning helps us achieve those goals.

Presidents cup is awarded to the team with the best record whereas other major trophies including the Open Cup are a tournament champion?

Imagine if we treated any other form of safety like this:"We should only install outlet covers in day care centers on a case-by-case basis, such as where a toddler has stuck his fingers in an electrical socket."
So instead of supporting universal daylighting, Brewer is now saying that the city should instead restrict parking at corners on a case-by-case basis, such as where there's been a crash or a fatality, a position that mimics that of the DOT.

Pedestrians should make sure to look left and then right and then left again before walking on the sidewalk in case a vehicle needs that space to safely tumble to rest
A car on its side flipped onto the sidewalk in front of a duplex. You can see the car’s undercarriage. It’s surrounded by emergency personnel and a tow truck.

Cannot get my blood pressure down enough to go to sleep after nearly being hit by car and then coming home to find local elected official saying that’s somehow my fault

Yes and what if it’s about learning and understanding these issues and not just tweeting out whatever random thoughts you have on a Saturday night?

“we shouldn’t be blaming victims”

*blames victims*

I see far too many people walk out into traffic without looking. We shouldn’t be blaming victims but that doesn’t mean pedestrians can’t also take steps towards safety.

What happened to look left right and left again?
