For years now, moderates have decried the division of identity politics of Democrats, ignoring of course that the Republican Party was defined by identity politics itself — the identity of whiteness. Now that it’s explicit the inability to call it out and to cover it aptly is starkly disappointing.

An overwhelming majority of members of the world’s leading genocide scholars’ association has backed a resolution stating that Israel’s actions in Gaza meet the legal definition of the crime.
Eighty-six percent of those who voted in the 500-member International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) supported the motion. I can’t help but imagine 10th grade history students discussing this image 60 years from now as an illustration of striking cruelty, political manipulation of anti-immigrant fervor, xenophobia, and really sloppy looking propaganda at a key historical turning point in the global balance of power…
