Babies need to be with their mommies. This is absolutely heartbreaking. Especially seeing all the supplies the family had gathered for the child. This is not a baby who was going to be unloved or not taken care of. There needs to be better systems put in place for situations like this.

I didn't need to be a parent to be devastated by this, but as a parent of a child under 1 year of age this hurts a lot.

When I was 10 years old and moving across the country, we initially didn't have internet in our new house. So I tried to draw this front page from memory, coloured it in, and hung it above my desk as if I were looking at a computer screen.
