Amazing how the "Young Tories" beauty shots make them look like criminals. First 2 look like they've just signed the sex offenders register, 3rd looks like he's had charges dropped for GBH twice thanks to his dad being connected, and the 4th looks destined to be the "star" of a fraud documentary.

The word for this week's #BookQW is STRONG. Eilert is not enjoying his time back "home".

Dieuwke nodded at me. Before she had started drinking in earnest her unusually deep voice had been the most powerful the Cathedral had seen in generations. She had never quite returned to her full strength even after getting her consumption under control.

Athol, Maestro Alto. His thin, expressionless face said that if he had any vices, they were so rarefied as to be almost unrecognisable as such. He had propelled himself into becoming the undisputed first among equals in his twentieth year, and was still going strong a century later. I knew to fear him above all else.

In a previous house, the stairs had a 180° turn halfway up, and as you rounded it your eye level was at floor height and you could look all the way down the landing into the bathroom. I remarked to Syd that I had thought "what if a witch came flying out of the dark" of the bathroom.

Any examination of toxicity that centres around tone is fundamentally unsound.

e.g. A far-right talking point, expressed using civil language, must always be considered a bigger infraction than heated invective alone.

Any approach to moderation that does not do this is unfit for purpose.
