Hey, wanna see some pretty apples?

Ours are coming in, so I thought I’d share.

This is Bloody Ploughman. 🌱
A dark, dark red apple with a russeted stem cavity being held in someone’s (my) hand as seen from above.

I guess we’ll find out soon if the Nobel committee is another victim of Trump’s protection racket.

Rep. Brian Mast: "Everybody has been talking about, 'Will he get the Nobel Peace Prize?' -- those academics and elites sitting in Norway, that board of people that decide it, they need to give President Trump the Nobel Peace Prize."

(Trump praised Mast for this Fox hit on Truth Social.)

C’mon, polyploidy is cool!

Right? The (online) world was soooo much smaller then.

Clearly that doesn’t rise to the level of people saying “food insecurity.”

Because of this post, I found out yesterday that Theo Von is 45 and I cannot stop thinking about that because it was embarrassing enough when I thought he was like 28. That’s a 45yo man LOL. Some men really do the least and still thrive.

“I voted for none of this."

Prominent influencers, including Theo Von, Joe Rogan, and Andrew Schulz, are starting to distance themselves from the president they helped propel to the White House.

If you consider Usenet a form of social media, then yes— 31 years ago I met someone on rec.arts.bodyart looking for nose rings. We were in the same town, so we met for coffee.

We’ve been together since, and that’s pretty great.

Has anything great happened in your life because of social media?

Watching so many people in high places go through the motions of polling and median-voter whispering can make you feel like you're in Bodysnatchers. It's worth a reminder that the typical experience of tyranny is...basically normal life. Which means we have to will ourselves to fight harder.
The Median Experience Of Tyranny
If the politics of tyranny were self-discrediting, we wouldn't need mantras like "never again."

You know what? They should do it.

82-year old Lee Greenwood dressed in an American flag jumpsuit. Maybe Trump gets up there and does his dance. Good stuff.

It’s what America craves.

Reminds me of this excellent sign that I saw at the Tubman African American Museum in Macon, Georgia.
Piano, which once belonged to Little Richard, with a sign on it saying "Do not attempt to play Little Richard's piano. He will know."

In a fight between Pritzker and and police, who is going to win? This is what happens when both parties allowed law enforcement to become one of the most powerful political actors in the country -- a taxpayer-funded political movement that wants to kill people.

if blue state governors and mayors aren't already thinking about the reliability of various police forces nominally under their control, they should start immediately

We could hear them laughing

Gonna be thinking about this lede for a minute.
(RNS) — Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call. I invited them to come and receive that salvation, and be part of the kingdom that is coming.”

But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire.

“We could hear them laughing,” Black said.
